This course provides an overview of currently available language-related instructional technologies and takes a closer look at corpus linguistics as one of the latest and fastest growing instructional technologies in language learning and teaching.  The overview component covers topics such as different types of instructional technology; their uses in teaching; technological needs of courses and learners; planning and implementation; developing materials and their use; the Internet as an instructional technology; and research into the effectiveness of technology-based teaching materials.  The corpus linguistic component provides a comprehensive practical introduction to the use of corpus linguistics in language teaching and learning, as well as research, both online and offline.
