The primary goal of the course is to introduce students into the elementary and essential institutes of business law, with particular emphasis to the international setting. To achieve this goal students will be introduced to the basics of law in general and business law in particular, all the while emphasizing the international component of the subject matter being studied. Upon a successful completion the student should be able to make informed decisions within the international business law milieu and have a broad understanding of the way the law works, how business law interacts with business every day, and what impact doing business cross border, or in a multinational setting may have on basic business tenants. The successful student should understand business law and the implications of the international component on business law, should have reasoned opinions and should be able to work effectively in applying such knowledge to everyday international business law situations. The student should be able to make informed and legally sound decisions in standard business and international business law situations.
